Beth El Welcomes New Senior Events Manager Taliya Adelstein

BALTIMORE, MD. (March 27th, 2019) " Beth El Congregation of Baltimore announced today it has hired Taliya Adelstein to serve as Senior Events Manager with immediate effect.

In her new role, Ms. Adelstein will be responsible for planning the congregation's events which include lifecycle celebrations such as baby namings, britot, B'nai Mitzvah, weddings, and kiddushes, as well as in-house events for all affiliates, committees, religious and preschool programs and the observance of the Jewish holidays.

“I'm thrilled to join Beth El Congregation, a strong, thriving and energetic synagogue community that is committed to our Jewish heritage,” Ms. Adelstein said. “My goal is to position Beth El and its fabulous gathering spaces as a premier event venue.” 
 
Ms. Adelstein joins Beth El after more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality and service industry, including 14 years as the Director of Catering at Linwood's restaurant. 

“We are delighted to welcome a Senior Events Manager with the inventiveness and leadership experience that Taliya brings to this position,” said Josh Bender, Executive Director of Beth El. “Our members look forward to commemorating their special life moments here at Beth El, so it was vital that we find an event manager with the creativity to exceed their expectations. We are confident that Taliya's personable and detailed oriented approach to event planning will make her an asset to our staff and a beloved member of the Beth El family. We thank Lori Downing for her many years of committed service to our community and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.” 

Ms. Adelstein said her experience creating flawless and memorable experiences for her past clients had prepared her for the demands of the new position. 

“Each event has a unique personality, but the look and feel of the space should embrace and invite the guests,” Ms. Adelstein said. “It's my job to understand the goals of our hosts and to create a warm ambiance that stays true to the event.” 

Ms. Adelstein will also inherit Beth El Congregation's reputation for promoting spectacular community events, such as LIVE! From Beth El and the First Wednesdays concert series.

“Tali is joining a truly spectacular and special Jewish community with a creative and dynamic team in place,” Josh Bender said. “With Taliya's wealth of knowledge and experience in event planning and catering, we will undoubtedly continue Beth El's tradition of providing exceptional programming, and we will no doubt reach new heights.”

Taliya Adelstein earned a Business Management degree from Fisher College. She also obtained a nationally recognized certification in ServeSafe Food Handling and is a member of the National Association for Catering and Events. Born in Israel, Ms. Adelstein is a "sabra," who has lived in America for most of her life.
