September 29: What are the Gaza Strip and the West Bank?
The Gaza Strip and the West Bank, two Palestinian territories, were captured in the Six-Day War in 1967. Currently, over 450,000 Israelis reside in the West Bank, including 12 communities in eastern Jerusalem, making a total of 144 Israeli communities in the region. Additionally, 70,000 Israelis live in 60 communities surrounding the Gaza Strip. Combined, approximately 5 million Palestinians live in these two territories. This class will explore why Jews choose to live in the West Bank and how security is maintained in both the West Bank and Gaza. We will examine the daily lives of Jewish residents in the communities of Kiriyat Arba and Efrat. An open discussion with Dr. Bor on Israel or any other topic will conclude the class.

October 27: The Knesset: How Does The Israeli Government Work?
David Ben Gurion, Israel's first prime minister and primary national founder, established the structure for the country's parliamentary government. This class with Dr. Bor will explore:
● Does this system need to change?
● Who is eligible to vote?
● How frequently are elections held?
The session will conclude with an open discussion with Dr. Bor on Israel or any other topic.

November 24: Four Holy Cities in Israel
There are four Holy cities in Israel: Jerusalem (500,000 Jews), Tzfat (40,000 Jews), Hebron (750 Jews and 215,000 Palestinians) and Tiberias (52,000 Jews). The class will explore what makes these cities holy. An open discussion with Dr. Bor on Israel or any other topic will conclude the class.

December 29: Zionism
Deepen your understanding of Israel and the Middle East with Dr. Eyal Bor's class on Zionism. This class will explore its 19th-century origins, tracing the movement from Jewish thinkers advocating for a homeland in the land of Israel. We will briefly examine the contributions of pivotal figures, including Theodor Herzl (1860-1904), Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook (1865-1935), Ze’ev Jabotinsky (1880-1940), David Ben-Gurion (1886-1973), Menachem Begin (1913-1992), and labor activist Beryl Katznelson (1887-1944). The class will also distinguish between the various forms of Zionism: social, religious, cultural, and labor. We will conclude with an open Q&A session with Dr. Bor on Israel or any other subject.
